Retreat to Reclaim’s Winter Wellness Retreat
Retreat to Reclaim’s Refresh & Renew themed Winter retreat offered attendees a space to pause, reflect, and realign with their true selves. The initial concept for this event was born out of a shared desire to kick off the new year with intention and alignment by deepening the connection with the body, mind and soul. Lauryn and Elizabeth envisioned a gathering that would serve as a catalyst for personal growth and connection, where attendees could feel inspired and empowered to manifest their best year yet.
Nestled in the picturesque landscape of Ortonville, Michigan, Stillwater Stables served as the perfect backdrop for this women’s day retreat. As attendees arrived at check-in, they were greeted by the vibrant setup of the Detroit Mobile Bar activated with a variety of freshly blended smoothies, each bursting with nourishing ingredients to kickstart their day on a healthy note. The event kicked off with a warm and inviting welcome circle, setting the tone for what would be an enriching day of self-discovery and connection. Attendees shared their name and a glimpse into their story, fostering an atmosphere of openness and camaraderie from the start of the event.
Following the welcome circle, the group transitioned into a breathwork and visualization session, guided by Lauryn. As participants settled into a comfortable position, they were invited to focus on their breath, allowing it to become a vehicle for deeper introspection and relaxation. Through guided visualization exercises, attendees were encouraged to tap into their inner wisdom. This session served as a powerful tool for grounding and centering, helping attendees cultivate a sense of clarity and purpose as they embarked on their journey of goal and intention-setting.
After a nourishing lunch provided by The Channeled Baker, the group reconvened for an afternoon of creative expression. Vision board supplies were distributed, and attendees were invited to tap into their creativity as they brought their aspirations to life. Armed with magazines, scissors, and glue, participants delved into the process of crafting their vision boards, selecting images and words that resonated with their aspirations for the year ahead.
As the afternoon drew to a close, day attendees bid farewell, their hearts filled with the warmth of newfound connections and the inspiration gleaned from a day of self-discovery. Meanwhile, behind the scenes, the event space underwent a transformation, evolving from a hub of creative energy into an intimate setting for a casual and comforting dinner.
Following dinner, guests were treated to the transformative experience of a sound bath. Led by Diane Tobey, the sound bath offered a unique opportunity for guests to release tension, quiet the mind, and reconnect with their inner selves through the soothing vibrations of sound and music. As gentle waves of sound washed over them, guests found themselves transported to a state of profound relaxation and inner peace, allowing them to let go and embrace the serenity of the present moment.
With spirits rejuvenated and hearts uplifted, guests reluctantly bid adieu to the sanctuary of the event space, embarking on a leisurely journey back to the Airbnb accommodations hosted at Stillwater Stables. For some, the allure of a hot tub beckoned. For others, the promise of a restful night's sleep awaited, a welcome reward after a day filled with moments of introspection and connection. As guests dispersed into the night, their minds buzzing with the memories of the day's experiences, they carried with them the essence of Retreat to Reclaim – a reminder to embrace the journey of self-discovery and renewal with open arms, wherever it may lead.
